I’m Lauren. I’m an artist, illustrator and writer.
I specialise in digital illustration, acrylic painting and linocut printing. I’m inspired by classic horror, vintage arcades, Americana and traditional tattooing.
I’m based in Bristol, and you can regularly find me at art markets and illustrator meet ups across the city.
I’m most interested in branding, product design and commissions. My work is available for licensing, but I’m happy to create new designs and illustrations for you, too.
My personal work may seem on the spookier side, but I draw all types of scenes, aesthetics and environments. And I love a fresh challenge and trying out new mediums, techniques and tools.
So if your idea seems a little outside of my wheelhouse, get in touch anyway. What I don’t know yet, I’m always excited to learn.
About the artist
About the artist
For as long as I’ve been able to hold a pen, I’ve been drawing.
I love creating and the simple act of bringing things out of my brain and into the world. And I love being able to do that for other people.
Whether it’s capturing a memory, a moment or creating brand assets, I pride myself on being able to visualise what’s in your mind, too.
I work in a variety of mediums and I’ll try my hand in any type of craft. I do have a few favourites though.
Digital illustration
Most of my most recent work has been drawn using Procreate. I love the freedom that working on an iPad gives me. And it means that you’ll usually find me squirrelled away in a corner on my lunch breaks drawing in every space moment I can find.
Linocut
Like many artists, I’ve fallen absolutely in love with linocut prints. It provides a lovely, welcomed and tangible antidote to digital art. It’s just good to work with physical mediums sometimes, you know?
Watercolour, charcoal and acrylics
My oldest and first loves. I use these most often when working on canvases or portraits. Charcoal is a particular favourite of mine when attending life drawing sessions in and around Bristol.
Journalling
Less a medium and more a format, but I’ve been keeping journals since I was sixteen. I’m currently on my 32nd journal. They’re the first thing I’d save in a house fire.
Stickers and prints
I also sell stickers, prints and various spooky items over on my Etsy store. If you’re on the lookout for morbid but cute designs wrapped up in pastel hues - this is the shop for you.
Writer by day, artist by every spare moment
My other love is writing. I work as a content designer at a design agency in Bristol. Content design for the uninitiated is similar to copywriting, but it has a digital focus. You can find out more about my content design work in my writing portfolio.
But what matters to you right now is that working at an agency has gifted me years of experience in working with lots of different types of people to create designs that really resonate.
I’m collaborative, creative and pragmatic. And I’m well-versed in translating ideas scrawled onto post it notes into things in the world that people can touch, engage and interact with.
